Our History



Dimitris Vassiliou, founder of VASSILIOU TROFINKO SA, starts distributing frozen food (fish, meat, poultry and vegetables) to grocery stores, butchers and restaurants. His motivation is to offer an excellent quality raw material.



After 14 years of experience in the field, the company evolves into a limited partnership, then into a general partnership and later into a limited liability company.


Vassiliou Trofinko receives the first ISO 9000 certification.



The common perception of the quality product leads ‘D. VASSILIOU SA’ to merge with the family business called ‘TROFINKO’, which was mainly engaged in supplying frozen food to supermarkets. The company is now known as ‘VASSILIOU TROFINKO S.A.’, with offices in Tavros, Attica.

In the same year, the distribution of the brand 7 THALASSES begins.




VASSILIOU TROFINKO SA establishes new modern privately owned facilities in Magoula, Attica, with warehouses, a sophisticated warehouse management system WMS with FIFO (First In First Out) and FEFO (First Expired First Out) rules, with processing and production units.



The company creates a new privately owned branch with storage space in the Industrial Park of Heraklion, Crete, in order to better serve the hotels on the island.



VASSILIOU TROFINKO S.A. starts exports to the European area.



The company installs photovoltaic panels at the Magoula plant.




The company starts export activity in America.

Our company gets certified according to the MSC Chain of Custody (Marine Stewardship Council) and ASC Chain of Custody (Aquaculture Stewardship Council) standards.



VASSILIOU TROFINKO S.A. is still a family business and continues to grow and offer top quality products to the catering and supermarket sectors, always with a focus on quality and strict adherence to specifications.
